The first topic addresses an often misunderstood security issue relating to "limit capabilities" within a user profile. Many IT departments are under the misconception that setting limit capabilities to *YES or *PARTIAL, will securely restrict an individual's ability to run a command sequence at the 5250 terminal. In fact there is a little known work around that can circumvent this setting.

Blocking The Edit Option Within The STRSEU Command
From time to time, companies have asked if there is a way to include SEU Commands on their production machines but strictly limit a user's ability to touch the source code. There are very few options using the standard OS/400 controls but with the appropriate tools companies can have the best of both worlds.
