Easy to configure
The ClientSync program consists of a single executable; there are no DLL or external program requirements. ClientSync’s operation is controlled through configuration parameters defined in a standard Windows configuration file.
Administrators set values in this file and deploy the file with the executable on each user’s computer. ClientSync’s robust options can easily handle any configuration requirement you throw at it – including adding additional (non-standard) files to the archive created by the program, cleaning up files (leaving a zero footprint on the system) and supporting your transition from a previous version of Lotus Notes with zero interruption.
Easy to deploy
When the user starts ClientSync for the first time, the application automatically packages the appropriate files for the version of Notes the user is running.
Easy to use
When users want to run Lotus Notes, they execute ClientSync instead of the standard Notes executable (notes.exe). ClientSync verifies that the latest zip file is on the local hard drive, copies it down if necessary, and uncompresses the files prior to starting the Notes client.
When the user exits Lotus Notes, ClientSync refreshes the zip file and copies it back to the network. ClientSync also provides the ability to delete the user’s files from the local drive – keeping the client workstations clean; with no personal files left around for someone else to find.
For Laptop users, ClientSync uses the local data files until reconnected to the network. When a user returns to the office, their personal data files are synchronized with the zip file stored on the server. Changes that were made to the local Notes configuration while disconnected are kept when the user reconnects to the server.
